About Us
Welcome to Holy Spirit Ministries International. For over four decades, our heart has been to share the love of Jesus, strengthen the Body of Christ, and equip believers around the world. Through evangelism, teaching, and global missions, we exist to build the Kingdom and carry the Gospel to every nation God opens to us.

My soul waiteth in silence for God only: From Him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my high tower: I shall not be greatly moved.
- Psalms 62:1-2
Our Vision
To see the Church reawakened to the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, believers walking in unity and love, and the gospel of Jesus Christ transforming lives and nations.
Our Mission
To build the Body of Christ at home and around the world through the power of the Holy Spirit, proclaiming the gospel, making disciples, and demonstrating God’s love through signs, wonders, and the truth of His Word.
Our History
In 1980, God radically transformed the lives of Jerry and Paula Smith. During a difficult season in their marriage, Jesus healed their relationship, restored their family, and placed a calling on their lives that would shape the decades to come. While visiting a friend’s church in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, a visiting minister spoke a prophetic word over them — that they “would go to other nations and continents of the world and share the wonderful love of Jesus.”
They knew the time was not yet, but the path had been set.

Jerry began a seven-year ordination process through Full Gospel Fellowship of Churches and Ministers International (later also ordained through World Ministry Fellowship). A lifelong student of the Word, he devoted himself to prayer, study, and training, while he and Paula ministered together in testimony, worship, and teaching. Much of their early ministry took place in Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship meetings, where Jerry served in the Tulsa chapters and founded the Claremore chapter, leading it for eight years.

Following his ordination, doors began to open around the world. Invitations came from Venezuela, the Philippines, Israel, Andorra, Argentina, Scotland, and Ireland, where Jerry taught at Victory Bible Institute in Athlone. After the fall of communism, God expanded their reach into Eastern Europe. They helped launch Ministry Training Schools through the International School of Ministry (ISOM) in Bulgaria and taught pastors and leaders throughout Romania, Belarus, Ukraine, and Hungary.

Between 1990 and 2005, Jerry and Paula also served as senior pastors at Spirit of Grace Church in Claremore, Oklahoma, and New Covenant Church in McKinney, Texas. In 1999, the Lord opened a new chapter of ministry in Uganda and Kenya, where they preached in churches and conferences, supported the digging of wells, and helped build orphanages and schools.

In 2001, they established the first ISOM school in Accra, Ghana. That initial work has multiplied into numerous Bible schools throughout Ghana, Nigeria, and Togo—many of which have produced pastors, church planters, and ministry leaders who continue the work today. A permanent office remains in Accra to oversee the ongoing ministry.

Meet Our Leaders
Today, Holy Spirit Ministries International is led by David and Stacey Limerick and Paula Smith, who faithfully carry forward the legacy established by Jerry Smith while continuing to expand the ministry’s global impact.

HSMI’s President, David Limerick, first sensed the tug of the Holy Spirit shortly after earning his Bachelor’s degree in Business from Mississippi State University in 1989. He later graduated from Rhema Bible College in 1992, stepping into full-time evangelistic ministry.
David traveled across the United States and internationally, sharing the gospel through music, street ministry, outdoor crusades, and preaching in churches worldwide. Through those early years, hundreds came to Christ and were planted in local churches, accompanied by testimonies of miracles, healings, and transformed lives.

In 1995, while ministering as a guest speaker at her father’s church in Claremore, Oklahoma, David met Stacey — the woman who would become his wife and partner in ministry. They married in June 1998 and made their home in Tulsa. Stacey soon left her corporate career at The Walt Disney Company to travel with David full-time, serving in evangelism, worship, and teaching.

In 2000, David and Stacey moved to McKinney, Texas to help Stacey’s parents pioneer New Covenant Church. They served as associate pastors and worship leaders while also working in the marketplace.
In 2005, God miraculously blessed them with twins, Kyle and Kristin, and shortly after, they were set in as senior pastors of New Covenant Church. During these years, Jerry and Paula Smith focused on their missions work abroad under Holy Spirit Ministries International, DBA Jerry Smith Ministries.

In 2007, New Covenant Church joined a larger ministry in southern Oklahoma. After serving one more year, David and Stacey stepped into their next God-ordained season. Through a divine connection, David met his future friend and mentor, Nick Campbell, which led to David building a successful financial practice rooted in biblical principles.
David became known for integrating faith with business, earning recognition as a Five Star Financial Advisor by Texas Monthly. His clients became people he pastored, prayed with, and encouraged daily. During this time, Jerry and Paula returned to Oklahoma.

In 2016, the Limerick family moved back to Oklahoma to raise their children and put down roots. David expanded his financial practice, while the family became deeply involved in their local church—teaching, leading worship, discipling, and serving in any capacity needed.
They also continued missions work in Poland, Pakistan, Scotland, Guatemala, Uganda, and Kenya, all while partnering with Jerry and Paula through HSMI/JSM.

After Jerry’s passing on New Year’s Day of 2022, David and Stacey stepped fully into leading Holy Spirit Ministries International, alongside Stacey’s mother, Paula Smith.
Today, they faithfully steward the ministry’s vision—traveling, supporting pastors and leaders, and investing financially in gospel work across seven nations. Their heart is to build the Body of Christ at home and around the world through evangelism, teaching, missions partnerships, and Spirit-led ministry.
