The Gospel Advancing in the Midst of Persecution
Pakistan is one of the most challenging and spiritually resistant mission fields in the world. Yet even in the face of persecution, restriction, and hardship, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is advancing through prayer, faith, and courageous obedience.
Holy Spirit Ministries International is honored to partner with trusted leaders and ministries who are faithfully serving believers and reaching the unreached throughout Pakistan.
Leadership & Prayer Conferences
Pastor Wasim Anjum
HSMI partners with Pastor Wasim Anjum, who leads impactful prayer gatherings throughout Pakistan. These gatherings—often called Prayer Conferences —bring believers together in powerful times of unity, worship, and intercession.
Prayer conferences are generally in very remote areas regularly hosting between 300–500 attendees. These gatherings play a vital role in strengthening and encouraging the Church across the nation.
These events focus on:
-
Corporate prayer
-
Worship
-
Encouragement of the Church
-
Strengthening believers
HSMI supports this work through prayer, partnership, and ongoing leadership connection, including regular Zoom calls and online conferences to encourage and equip pastors and leaders.

The Freedom Reigns Project
Freedom Reigns is a vital ministry initiative recently birthed through HSMI that focuses on freeing Christian families from bonded labor in brick kilns, a form of modern-day slavery that has trapped families for generations.
In these systems:
-
Families incur small debts that grow exponentially
-
Entire families — including children — are forced to work
-
If one family member dies, the debt is passed on
-
Many remain enslaved for life
Through Freedom Reigns, these chains are being broken.
How it works
HSMI partners closely with Pastor John Javed, whose ministry, Consuming Fire, is based in Lahore, Pakistan. His ministries are made up of his home church in Lahore, King's House of about 4,000 people, with over 800 believers who have been freed from bondage.
Freedom Reigns operates with integrity, accountability, and long-term care:
-
Families are thoroughly vetted
-
Legal documents are reviewed and verified
-
Debts are paid directly (average $1,850 per family)
-
Families are relocated to safe areas
-
They are connected to local churches
-
Sustainable work opportunities are established
The return rate to slavery is 0%.
To date, HSMI has been involved in helping free 10 families, completely changing their generational future.
Restoration Through Work & Training
Freedom Reigns does more than rescue, it restores.
Initiatives include:
-
Sewing schools teaching women vocational skills
-
Rickshaw purchases to provide sustainable income
-
Business support to help families remain independent
-
Ongoing pastoral care and discipleship
These efforts help ensure families are not only free, but thriving.

Churches, Media & Leadership Development
Pastor John Javed's home church, King's House in Lahore has an attending of more than 4,000. He also oversees several other churches made up of former slaves.
Pastor John also leads a Christian television ministry that broadcasts worldwide through King Television, reaching across the globe.
In addition, leadership schools are being established to train future pastors and ministers within Pakistan — equipping local believers to lead the Church forward in wisdom and strength.
On-the-Ground Ministry & Evangelism
Despite strict limitations on missionary visas and public preaching, the Gospel continues to be shared:
-
Pastors are encouraged and equipped
-
Bibles are distributed (funded by partners outside Pakistan)
-
Leaders are trained and strengthened
-
Prayer gatherings are held — even in hostile regions
-
Prayer Festivals of over 200,000 people.
HSMI leaders have preached and ministered in cities including Islamabad, and have held tent meetings where people gathered openly to hear the Gospel, even in areas historically known for opposition.
